Ex-WWE Star Goldberg Fires Shot At “The Moron I Kicked In The Head” While Addressing His Physical In-Ring Style

Ex-WWE Star Goldberg Fires Shot At

Goldberg has recalled his intense in-ring style while seemingly taking issue with the legendary wrestler who is his harshest critic.

During his time in WCW and in WWE the former World Champion was predominantly known for short matches that featured high-impact moves that looked devastating on his opponent. Having not competed since 2022, Goldberg has been critical of the modern style of wrestling and the performers on a number of occasions including expressing no desire to go to AEW as he found the product to be “too cheesy.”

While appearing on The Von Erichs podcast, the Hall of Famer first discussed the impact that Hulk Hogan had on his own career. When it was brought up that people have forgotten the impact that Hogan has had on the business, Goldberg brought up that people have also forgotten about his own impact:

“You saw how easily it was that people forgot about me and the fact that I smashed people and then leave. Now they have the audacity to think that any of these morons could stand 2 seconds with me? It’s funny that people’s identities get wiped away quite quickly. The current generation and the next are completely dependent on what people tell them and what they see on the internet. It’s a shame that these morons didn’t feel the excitement or couldn’t understand the excitement when my music hit when I blow smoke out of my nose.”

Continuing, the Hall of Famer described the believability of his own in-ring style and mentioned that there have been a couple of instances when things have not gone as planned, seemingly referencing his kick to Bret Hart at Starrcade 1999 that led to The Hitman’s early retirement:

“9 times out of 10 you had to really question whether I was hurting the guy or not, that’s the fine line you gotta walk. Granted, unfortunately a couple of times, Steiner, I’m not even gonna mention his name, the moron I kicked in the head. But unfortunately, things like that happen, it’s a rough business. As long as there is no malicious intent, hey bro, you’re in the wrong business if you bitch and moan about getting slapped or getting punched errantly. It’s just a different day and age man, it really is.”

Is Goldberg Planning A Retirement Match?

No longer under contract with WWE, the Hall of Famer has previously stated how he has taken issue with the fact that he was never given a proper retirement match despite being promised it by Vince McMahon. Speaking in a previous interview, Goldberg gave an update on retirement plans.

In the second episode of Who Killed WCW? Bret Hart once again let his feelings about the Starrcade 1999 incident be known.
