With Roman Reigns set to return to WWE, Matt Hardy has looked at whether he needs to change to be a babyface.
During his historic 1,316-day reign as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns ruled WWE with an iron fist. Aided by The Bloodline, the star saw off dozens of challengers to his dominance all the way to WrestleMania 40 where, with a little help, Cody Rhodes overcame the odds to take the gold from The Tribal Chief.
Recently, it has been reported that Roman Reigns will make his long-awaited return to WWE, having not been seen since his defeat. When he gets back, it is likely his first order of business will be taking on Solo Sikoa. Sikoa has remade The Bloodline in his own image over the past few months, ejecting both Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman and replacing them with Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu, who have all acknowledged him as The Tribal Chief.
Will Roman Reigns Need To Return To WWE A Different Man?
With him see to take on the new Bloodline, Reigns will likely be coming back as a fan favourite, and audiences have already begun chanting “We want Roman” in recent weeks.
Speaking on his ‘Extreme Life’ podcast, Matt Hardy reflected on whether Reigns will need to change things up for his new role, saying that he should probably keep doing the “same shtick” he has been doing for years now. Hardy also thinks the Head of the Table will need to reassemble the original Bloodline for his war with Sikoa.
“He’s just gotta do the same shtick he was doing before with The Bloodline, except he’s gonna be positioned in the role of the hero.
“I don’t even think he changes a whole lot. I just think you act the same way. You do the same deal. You get back the original crew. You put The Usos back together in there.”
Hardy thinks that one thing WWE needs to do is build up Sikoa’s version of the faction to be a real threat to Reigns, since he has already set a very high bar.
“And now they just need to make sure to build up this new Bloodline and make them seem like they are gonna be a threat because Roman is a very high bar. So they need to put as much steam as possible on this new version of The Bloodline.
!This thing with taking out Paul Heyman was epic. And it felt big. It felt special. It felt important.”
