Rey Mysterio’s on-screen rivalry with his son Dominik has been one of the biggest stories in WWE for months.
The feud finally came to a head at WrestleMania 39 with Rey defeating Dominik with a little helping hand from Bad Bunny who was at ringside. However, despite the match, the rivalry has continued, with the LWO led by Rey clashing with Judgment Day featuring Dominik.
This has led to a match being made between Hip Hop star Bad Bunny and Damian Priest at Backlash in Puerto Rico.
At WrestleMania, Rey Mysterio made his entrance in a lowrider driven by Snoop Dogg to Los Guerreros theme music. The majority of fans enjoyed the moment which served as a tribute to Eddie Guerrero.
However, speaking in a new interview with Bill Apter for Sportskeeda, Chavo Guerrero said the tribute was “almost taking it too far.”
“I was okay with it, but I’m like, ‘Okay, guys, really?’ Now it’s almost taking it too far. That was mine and Eddie’s music and entrance. Literally, he’s coming out with what we used to do with the low riders and all that kinda stuff. Instead, he’s got Snoop driving and he’s got mine and Eddie’s music. He didn’t have Eddie’s music. He had Los Guerreros’ music.”
Guerrero added that if he wanted to, Rey Mysterio could have had the entrance changed.
“It was probably writing crew a lot, but Rey’s got say in it,” Chavo added. “If Rey said, ‘Hey, no, I don’t want to do that. That’s too close to Eddie,’ they would have [said], ‘Okay, let’s not do that.’ They would have listened to him, for sure.”
Chavo Guerrero Claims Recent Comments About Rey Mysterio Were Him Being A “Heel”
This isn’t the first time that Guerrero has appeared to be critical of Mysterio. After suggesting that Mysterio should give some of his earnings to Eddie’s daughters to prove he wasn’t “prostituting” the Guerrero name, Chavo stated he was simply being a “heel.” He later commented that the outrage at what he said proved he’d “still got it.”
