A former WWE star has issued a warning to Tiffany Stratton over alleged gimmick infringement.
A part of the main roster for just over a year, Stratton has had one of the best call-up years in recent memory. Along with being one of the most popular stars at Elimination Chamber in Perth, Australia, the former NXT Women’s Champion also captured Money in the Bank later that year and was part of a segment with Trish Stratus later that night.
On the first SmackDown of 2025, Stratton successfully cashed in her Money in the Bank contract on Nia Jax to win her first main roster Women’s Championship, a title she still holds to this day. While Stratton looks set to be a part of a huge match at her first WrestleMania assuming she still is the champion by then, a former WWE star has taken issue with the champ’s recent SmackDown segment.
As part of her title celebration on January 10th, Stratton told the fans and wrestlers to “put some respect” on her name. Taking notice of the line, former WWE star Mandy Rose spoke about Stratton on her Power Alphas podcast after being sent clips of Stratton allegedly stealing her catchphrase:
“Another little story that just happened. Friday Night SmackDown, someone, a new champion named Tiffany Stratton, used my slogan, ‘Put some respect on my name.’ To be honest, I wasn’t even watching it. I got so many tweets about it, and I was like, ‘What is going on?’ and I saw the clip, and this b***h even used the same kind of tone. I was like, ‘Hold on a second, I thought we were cool.’ I put her over here. Listen, we can admire each other, we can respect, we can look up to, but we can’t take our words from each other.”
Continuing, Rose noted that she has been compared to the Women’s Champion in the past and thought that Stratton was doing amazing, but once again reminded the SmackDown star to not use her words:
“It was kind of funny because she used it at the end of her promo. You know people actually put the the two videos side by side, and it was kind of weird because it was a video when I said it, and then when she said it and it was almost the same. Obviously we’ve gotten the whole comparison thing Tiffany and I, our looks and other things I guess.Well, a lot of people are talking and they’re mentioning they almost think her saying that was, a little wink. A mother coming, I’m mother….they’re calling me mother on Twitter. So congratulations to Tiffy, but don’t use my words, honey. We make that very clear, but that’s okay. I commend you, and I think you’re doing amazing, so I’ll put you over, but again, don’t use my words.”
