A former WWE star wants their contributions to the company to be recognised.
After making a name for themselves in NXT, Enzo Amore and Big Cass made their main roster debut on the Raw after WrestleMania 32 in 2016. Receiving a thunderous ovation from the live crowd, the fans chanted along with all of the tag team’s catchphrases and the duo quickly became one of the most popular acts on TV and was featured in multiple top segments with the likes of John Cena, Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens.
Shortly before the Raw 25 special in 2018, Enzo was suspended and later released due to sexual assault allegations that Amore did not inform the company about. The investigation was dropped by the authorities later in the year.
Enzo Amore Hopes to Be Recognised By WWE
Despite the fact that Amore was with WWE for 6 years and reigned twice as Cruiserweight Champion, he is not found in the Alumni section on WWE’s website. Speaking with Wrestling Shoot Interviews, the former Cruiserweight Champion, who now wrestles under the name Real1, stated that his goal was to be recognised by the company in 2025 while also referencing Roman Reigns’ catchphrase:
“My goal, by the time it’s 2025, I hope that you get to sing it along with me and spell it out with me. By the time we look at 2025, I would hope that somewhere in the annals of WWE history, that I will be recognized once again and join the alumni section, bare minimum. That is my goal. To have a career like I had, and for people not to acknowledge it, you want to talk about ‘acknowledge me?’ F*ck you, man. What? Throw some acknowledgment this way. So that would it be it, man. Just to have an opportunity to do the thing that I love at the highest levels in the world.
I do it at the highest level in the world, but not at the highest level in the world. So I’m wrestling around the clock all the time. This is what I do. It’s my career. Wrestling is my life. I love that I didn’t let a world that made me and broke me define me, that I am who I am, and I’m a good man. That’s all I care to be, a good person. You meet me at the meet and greet, I want you to walk away saying he was a good guy. I think that I’ll be recognized by those same people that made me once again, as just that, one of them.”
It should be noted that while Amore is not in the alumni section, Big Cass is.
