A former WWE star has discussed a possible match against Swerve Strickland and why it is unlikely to ever come to fruition.
In May 2021, NXT fans saw the debut of the faction Hit Row comprised of Strickland [FKA Isaiah “Swerve” Scott], Ashante “Thee” Adonis, B-Fab and Top Dolla. Shortly after their main roster call-up to SmackDown in October of that year, all 4 were released by the company.
Although Top Dolla, B-Fab and Ashante “Thee” Adonis would all make their return to the company in August 2022, the group was without Strickland as he became All Elite at Revolution earlier in the year. In September 2023, Top Dolla was released from his WWE contract and has since competed in TNA under the name AJ Francis.
With both wrestlers going on to find success in their respective promotions, Francis stated that he would love to have a full-circle moment with Strickland and believes that it would make a lot of money. However, while the match is a big one for Francis, he does not believe that it will happen anytime soon.
Speaking with Straight Talk Wrestling, Francis stated that as he is happy in TNA, the match appears to be highly unlikely:
“Me versus Swerve would make so much money. Just the promos alone, the backstory, but I don’t think it’s ever gonna happen, and sadly, there’s a million reasons why I don’t think it’s ever gonna happen. Mainly because I love my time in TNA. I’m a big believer in…I was in a relationship with a woman that didn’t appreciate me and made the world think that I was one way, and now, I’m in a relationship with a woman that worships the ground that I walk on and treats me right and lets people know how great I am, and that’s what I am with TNA, and that’s why I’m happy exactly where I’m at.”
