Ex-WWE Star Allegedly Has Many Enemies In Wrestling, Chastised Over AJ Lee Allegation

AJ Lee WWE 2025 Matt Riddle Peter Rosenberg

AJ Lee was brought up in supposedly bad light by a former WWE star, and Peter Rosenberg has called him out.

Matt Riddle parted ways with WWE after several controversies plagued the final stages of his career at the sports entertainment capital. While his on-screen character has mostly been likable, especially during his tag team run with Randy Orton as RK-Bro, his off-screen personality has been criticized by many.

Cheap Heat podcast’s host Peter Rosenberg discussed The Original Bro recently on his show, as the former WWE star has made headlines for the wrong reasons again. This includes comments on AJ Lee’s personal affairs, which evoked the ire of fans.

AJ Lee, the wife of CM Punk, made her WWE return this past Friday after a decade, and is likely going to wrestle in the not-too-distant future. Meanwhile, Matt Riddle has been working in the independent circuit since his release from the promotion in September 2023. He is in first first reign as the MLW World Heavyweight Champion in Major League Wrestling.

Peter Rosenberg Chastises Former WWE Star Matt Riddle For AJ Lee Comments: “Shut Up, Bro”

On his podcast, Peter Rosenberg stated that Matt Riddle carries himself “like a jacka**” to this day, referring to Riddle’s remark about AJ Lee. While Riddle did say that he was not judging Lee for having “been around,” Rosenberg pointed out how unnecessary it was and how he made enemies this way.

[Matt Riddle] carried himself like a jacka**, made a bunch of mistakes, made a bunch of enemies, and now he still carries himself like a jacka**, saying completely inappropriate things P, disrespectful things about AJ Lee, it’s just — Just shut up, bro,” Peter Rosenberg said.

He further noted that the MLW World Heavyweight Champ could beat him up, so he was probably not going to say these things to the latter’s face. However, on his podcast, he can share his true feelings about Matt Riddle if he wants.

You’re a talented guy [Matt Riddle], there’s some appeal there–again, not my guy,” Peter Rosenberg said. “People tried to give him the RVD treatment, but he wasn’t RVD, because (a) I don’t think he was the actual chill, laidback stoner that RVD was, and he certainly was not the pro wrestler RVD is.”

Although Matt Riddle has gained some goodwill in recent times–especially when he expressed a desire to return to WWE so that he can complete the RK-Bro story–his AJ Lee comments have horribly backfired on him.
