On June 25, 2021, WWE confirmed the release of 14 WWE Superstars including former Tag Team Champions Breezango alongside a large portion of the 205 Live roster.
The news of WWE talent releases came after writer Kenice Mobley was released following an appearance on the ‘Asian Not Asian’ podcast. During the appearance, she stated that the WWE did not require her to have any prior knowledge of professional wrestling. The interview led to substantial fan backlash online.

WWE already made several high-profile releases earlier this year with Superstars such as Braun Strowman, Aleister Black and Mickie James leaving the company.
Samoa Joe who was released on April 15th has since returned, appearing on NXT as General Manager, William Regal’s enforcer.
Several of the released WWE Superstars have taken to social media to share their reactions to the news and to thank fans for their support during their time in the promotion.
Following the news, Fandango thanked Triple H, Vince McMahon and Stephanie McMahon on social media for the last 14 years.
Meanwhile, Daivari was more bullish commenting that “It’s time to put sports entertainment behind me and get back professional wrestling.”
Thank you all for the kind words and support. It's time to put sports entertainment behind me and get back professional wrestling.
