Ethan Page has expressed his frustration at losing out on an NXT Championship shot at Deadline.
At Deadline, Page was part of the Iron Survivor Challenge alongside Nathan Frazer, Je’von Evans, Wes Lee, and a mystery opponent who would replace the injured Eddy Thorpe. When the time came, it was Oba Femi making his shock return to NXT after two months out of action.
Femi immediately dominated his competition in the match, but his opponents soon teamed up to try to take him out. This led to Page getting a roll-up pin on the star to bring him up to two points.
Later, Page was also pinned and ended up in the penalty box with Femi. Femi took advantage of the situation to beat Page up, effectively taking him out of the match.
With only a minute left, Femi dropped both Nathan Frazer and Wes Lee to get a double pin and bring him up to three points for the victory.
After the show, WWE posted a digital exclusive showing a dejected Page wondering what he has to do to get back to the main event scene.
“18 years, it took me to get here. To climb that mountain-top, to win the championship. It also took me 18 years to figure out that Ethan Page has no clue how to get back there.”
He then seemed to admit defeat, saying “I don’t know, I can’t do this.”
"I can't do this."
