Following the latest reports of backstage drama in AEW, Ethan Page has called for behind the scenes issues in the company to be kept private.
It has been a tumultuous year for Tony Khan and AEW with multiple stories of backstage issues amongst talent overshadowing much of the on-screen product, particularly over the last few months.
Just as the dust was beginning to settle on the explosive backstage brawl at All Out, reports emerged this week regarding a behind the scenes altercation between Sammy Guevara and Andrade El Idolo, which saw the latter get sent home from this Wednesday’s taping.
During an interview with ‘Sunday Night’s Main Event’, AEW star Ethan Page spoke about the bond between talents in the main men’s locker room:
“You’re looking at a roster filled with people that spent years kind of starving together. So, there’s that pocket of the locker room that has a certain bond and camaraderie that will never go away. But like, as far as the whole company… I don’t know. The only thing I know is what happens in the room that has ‘male talent’ across it. Anyone else that has a name on their door… I don’t go in there, I don’t know what happens in there, I don’t know what their relationships are with the other wrestlers on the roster, nor do I care. If you don’t change with me, I don’t care.”
When the interviewer touched upon the backstage issues in the company, Ethan Page had the following to say:
“I have a question, who cares? Who cares? Literally, who cares? Who’s keeping score? You don’t need to know what our relationships are like behind the scenes, watch the damn show. We don’t need to like each other.”
Ethan Page was recently revealed as a member of ‘The Firm’, a group of wrestlers led by Stokely Hathaway that will serve as MJF’s faction ‘on retainer’.
