Ernest Miller Claims Hulk Hogan Wanted To Drop WCW World Title To Him

Former WCW star Ernest “The Cat” Miller once claimed that wrestling icon Hulk Hogan was willing to lose the WCW Championship to him.

Speaking on a 2018 episode of the Pancakes and Powerslams podcast, Miller revealed that Hogan wanted him involved in the nWo storyline and even pitched the idea of dropping the WCW World Title to him.

“You know what, Hogan wanted to lose the title to me one time to get me involved with the nWo,”

Miller said. However, he noted that beyond the nWo, there wasn’t much else happening in WCW at the time.

“But then, if you noticed, we had so much little to nothing going on outside of the nWo.”

Miller also spoke highly of his personal relationship with Hogan, saying he found the wrestling legend easy to work with and often sought his advice.

“[I] may have been different from a lot of people. [Hulk Hogan] and I had a bond, he was really a good guy and easy to talk to,” Miller explained. “I would run things past him, and he’ll give me some of his respects about the situation… Hulk Hogan was just another wrestler, who told me what to do and he was professional at it. Give me some advice, and I’ll take it and move on. I had a great experience with Hulk Hogan.”

Although Miller never won the WCW World Championship, his story provides insight into the backstage workings of WCW during its peak, but it is unknown how true Miller’s claims are regarding him nearly winning the company’s top prize despite never really breaking into the main event scene.

What Strange Claim Did Hulk Hogan Once Make About Brock Lesnar?

Hulk Hogan once claimed that he wrestled Brock Lesnar in WWE after Lesnar returned to the company from his UFC run. Lesnar joined the UFC in 2008 and left in 2011 after winning the UFC Heavyweight Championship and returned to WWE in 2012. Hogan said that he was one of the first people to wrestle Brock Lesnar upon his return from UFC, but Hogan only ever wrestled Lesnar in a one-on-one bout once in 2002, six years before Lesnar joined the UFC.

After Hulk Hogan was hit with heavy boos again, Mark Henry reacted to the news.
