Eric Bischoff Wouldn’t Accept An AEW Job Offer From Tony Khan

Eric Bischoff Applauds Tony Khan Amidst Recent AEW Releases

WWE veteran Eric Bischoff has opened up on why he isn’t ready to accept a job offer from AEW.

The former Executive Director of SmackDown Bischoff has recently clashed with Khan quite a few times on social media and is often openly critical of his product.

WCW and WWE veteran Eric Bischoff is widely known for his critical approach toward Tony Khan’s AEW. Bischoff often shares his views on his X (Twitter) profile and podcast, ‘83 weeks’. Despite a small stint at the Jacksonville-based promotion, he is not open for a return.

Speaking on his podcast, ‘83 Weeks‘, Bischoff shared his views on whether he would work as the general manager of AEW and face WWE in a weekly ratings war again, similar to his WCW days. However, the Hall of Famer did not seem much eager.

No. I hope AEW pulls a nose up, figures out a way, and has vision, but we all know it’s pretty public, the kind of drama going on backstage. If I was in my 20s and 30s, hell yeah. Why not, especially with the kind of bags that are being thrown around backstage there. Hell yeah, I’d do it. Even in my 40s, I would have done it, but at this stage of my life, I wouldn’t go near it.”

He hoped to see All Elite Wrestling pick up the pace and compete with WWE. However, based on his age, he rejected the move. Bischoff further continued:

First of all, the first time I step foot in AEW, everything that’s wrong with that place would be wrong because of me. I ain’t going near it. I wouldn’t even want to show up on camera anymore. If everything was fine, and you know, Tony and I weren’t going back and forth, and I didn’t call his last All In show hot garbage this morning, even if none of that was happening and we were buddies, I wouldn’t even really want to be on the show.

At this stage of my life, why? It’s not as much fun for me anymore as it would have been when I was in my 40s. If it was a better environment, if the show was great, if it had some momentum and it was fun, sure I would, if it was fun, but it’s not fun.”

Jon Moxley Explains His Hatred Of The AEW World Championship

During the latest Collision episode, current AEW World Champion Jon Moxley opened up on his hatred for the title belt and explained his reasons. Moxley shared:

Regarding the AEW World Championship, nothing has changed, is different. Nothing changed last Saturday night, nothing has changed since the moment I arrived in AEW.

Nobody owns that belt, it doesn’t belong to anybody. It’s not for Bryan Danielson or anybody else, it’s for the position, and only one man has ever sat in that chair. That is me.
