WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff has taken AEW President Tony Khan to task over his recent comments about winning a ‘Booker of the Year’ award.
Tony Khan recently raised eyebrows with comments he made regarding winning the Wrestling Observer’s Booker of the Year award on Busted Open Radio. Khan remarked:
“I’m gonna make a full-court press to get it, and I’m gonna let people know right now: There’s been a lot of build to a lot of this stuff. And, if people have been telling me there hasn’t, they’re completely full of sh*t, or they’re just not paying attention.”
Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff – who never won the Booker of the Year award during his time running WCW – took Khan to task for his aspirations and suggests he thinks the AEW boss has bigger issues he should be keeping an eye on:
“Tony, in particular, says so much stupid sh*t it’s hard not to call him out about it. Like, wanting to win the ‘Dave Meltzer dirt sheet booker of the year’ award, three years in a row. Are you f*cking kidding me?”
“That kind of stuff makes it hard, not only for people like me who have been in the industry, but even fans start to go ‘What?’ Meantime, my locker room is beating the sh*t out of each other, I got to fire people every week, and those that I’m not firing, I’m suspending. I don’t know, ‘Dirtsheet Booker of the Year?’ Is that something I’d be talking about? I don’t think so.”
