Chad Gable Confirms Injury — and Accidentally Outs Himself as El Grande Americano

WWE star El Grande Americano

Chad Gable has been absent from WWE television in recent weeks, and now fans know why — and perhaps more importantly, who.

While attending a Minnesota Twins baseball game, the American Made leader revealed he’s recovering from rotator cuff surgery. Gable appeared in a sling and shared that while the injury is unfortunate, it has given him rare time at home with his family.

“Unfortunate circumstances, but you know what? I’m looking at the silver linings here,” Gable told Twins.TV. “I got a little injury to my rotator cuff… So, find the bright side, right?”

However, that wasn’t the only reveal that caught fans’ attention.

In the same interview, when asked about the highlight of his career so far, Gable casually replied that it was wrestling his first singles match at WrestleMania. The problem? Chad Gable didn’t have a singles match at WrestleMania 41 — but El Grande Americano did.

That slip-up all but confirmed what fans have speculated for months: Gable is the man behind the Americano mask.

The masked superstar has been featured heavily on RAW since Gable’s injury, continuing American Made’s presence on TV. Now, with the not-so-subtle reveal, the mystery may have unintentionally unraveled.

Chad Gable Confirms Injury and Recovery Status Amid WWE Absence

Chad Gable Opens Up About Being "Disappointed" In Sami Zayn Feud

Chad Gable has finally addressed his recent absence from WWE programming — and confirmed what many fans had suspected: he’s sidelined with a legitimate injury.

The leader of American Made was last seen being attacked by Penta, a moment that fueled speculation around the El Grande Americano mystery. Gable, who had long denied being behind the mask, accidentally let it slip in an interview before disappearing from TV. With Gable off the scene, the true identity of El Grande Americano remains unknown.

Now, in a lighthearted interview during a Minnesota Twins baseball game, Gable confirmed he’s dealing with a rotator cuff injury and has already undergone surgery. His arm was still in a sling, but he seemed in good spirits.

“Unfortunate circumstances, but you know what? I’m looking at the silver linings here,” Gable said while speaking to Twins.TV. “I got a little injury to my rotator cuff, but what it did do was buy me some time off the road to be home with my family and do stuff like this — come to a baseball game on a Sunday, which I never get to do. So, find the bright side, right?”

Though Gable didn’t provide an exact timeline for his return, the visual of him still in a sling suggests he’ll be out for at least a few more weeks, possibly longer depending on rehab.

AEW

Thunder Rosa Teases Hiatus and Big Changes Following ROH Title Loss and AEW All In

Thunder Rosa’s return to the ring during All In weekend was met with excitement and hope from her fans, but it may have marked the beginning of another transitional phase for La Mera Mera. After two high-profile matches in Texas, the former AEW Women’s World Champion is stepping away—at least for now.

On Friday night, Rosa stepped into the ring in her home state of Texas to challenge Athena for the ROH Women’s World Championship. The hard-fought battle lasted nearly 20 minutes, but in the end, Athena retained her title, handing Rosa another tough loss.

Just a day later, Rosa competed in the Women’s Casino Gauntlet Match at AEW All In, only to fall short once again—this time with Athena stealing the victory and the title opportunity.

In her latest YouTube vlog, Rosa gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at her hectic All In weekend in Arlington. But it was the final moments of the video — filmed at home, post-event — that really got fans talking. Rosa addressed her “Thunder Army” directly, hinting at some time away, and more intriguingly, some kind of personal or professional transformation.

“That weekend was long. Today was All In, I didn’t get the result that I wanted, and I got some time off. [thumbs up] To be continued…”

That cryptic remark might have been brushed off by some — until Rosa elaborated a bit more in her closing message.

Rosa, who has been vocal about frustrations with AEW earlier this summer, didn’t clarify whether her break was injury-related, personal, or career-driven. But she did suggest that something bigger may be on the horizon.

“Thunder Army, this is the wrap of this All In… Extravaganza, because it was an extravaganza. Definitely was a lot of work, it was mission accomplished, and you guys were again a big part of it,” Rosa said with a smile. “And now I deserve a well, well, well-earned… resting time? Yeah… resting? Yeah… time off? Hmm… who knows?”

After plugging her social media, Rosa left fans with a message that was both heartfelt and ambiguous:

“The most important thing is to keep believing in Thunder Rosa, keep believing in yourself, and keep believing that sometimes changes are good in life.”

Her comments come after months of backstage tension and inconsistent booking following her return from a lengthy back injury. Fans now wonder if “time off” simply means a brief recharge — or a deeper reassessment of her future in AEW altogether.

Raw

WWE Reportedly Moves SummerSlam Match to RAW: Jey Uso vs. Bronson Reed Goes Down Tonight

WWE SummerSlam 2025

Just days ahead of SummerSlam 2025, WWE has made a surprising change to its premium live event card. A major singles match—originally set for The Biggest Party of the Summer—has now been moved up to tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the originally scheduled Jey Uso vs. Bronson Reed showdown was removed from the SummerSlam lineup and instead will now air on RAW as part of the final build to a newly announced tag team match involving Roman Reigns.

The feud between Jey Uso and the Paul Heyman-led alliance of Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker has been steadily intensifying over recent weeks. Jey, one of RAW’s top babyfaces, had been single-handedly resisting the faction in Seth Rollins’ absence, making him a constant target of their wrath.

Dave Meltzer noted that WWE had long planned to feature a singles grudge match between Jey Uso and Reed at SummerSlam. It was designed as a culmination of their escalating rivalry, which began when Seth Rollins—before his injury—commanded Reed to take Jey out as part of a strategy to weaken their enemies.

But the return of The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns has changed everything.

With Reigns back in the mix and aligned—at least for now—with Jey, WWE has pivoted toward a marquee tag match for SummerSlam. Reigns and Uso will now team up to face Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed in what promises to be a high-stakes clash.

To help build anticipation, tonight’s RAW will feature the original one-on-one match between Jey and Reed. It’s expected that both Breakker and Reigns will get involved, teasing tensions and alliances ahead of the weekend’s blockbuster tag bout.

Rey Mysterio

WWE SuperShow Rocks Mexico City With Star-Studded Matches and Rey Mysterio's Surprise Return

WWE made a triumphant return to Mexico City on July 26th for a thrilling SuperShow at Arena CDMX — and the night didn’t disappoint. Packed with action, major surprises, and an emotional tribute to Hulk Hogan, the event gave fans in attendance a truly unforgettable experience.

The evening kicked off with a 10-bell salute honoring the late Hulk Hogan, setting a respectful and emotional tone for what would become one of the most stacked non-televised cards of the year.

WWE and AAA talents collided early, with luchador favorites Mr. Iguana, Pagano, and Psycho Clown defeating Legado del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Angel, and Berto) in a fast-paced opener. The crowd was electric for the homegrown stars and the high-flying chaos.

Dominik Mysterio picked up a win in a Triple Threat match against El Grande Americano and R-Truth, while Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez successfully defended the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships against Michin and B-Fab.

In another exciting tag bout, fan-favorites Jey Uso and Sami Zayn defeated the powerhouse duo of Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker. Stephanie Vaquer also picked up a singles win over Chelsea Green, continuing her rapid rise in WWE’s women’s division.

Tiffany Stratton retained her Women’s Championship in a hard-hitting showdown against Nia Jax, and Andrade teamed with Rey Fenix to outlast The Creed Brothers (American Made) in an electric match that fused high-flying lucha libre with brute strength.

One of the night’s biggest surprises came when Cody Rhodes aligned with recent Bloodline defector Jacob Fatu and Jimmy Uso. Together, they defeated Solo Sikoa and The MFT (JC Mateo and Tonga Loa) in a hard-hitting six-man main event storyline special.

Another standout moment came when Penta El Zero Miedo challenged Gunther for the World Heavyweight Title in a brutal, hard-fought contest. Though the Austrian champion retained, Penta’s new look and fiery performance won over the crowd.

To close out the night, WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio made a surprise return, marking his first appearance since being sidelined prior to WrestleMania 41. The pop was deafening as the icon emerged to thank fans and show love to his hometown crowd.

Eric Bischoff

Eric Bischoff Reveals Final Emotional Meeting With Hulk Hogan Before WWE Legend's Passing

How Hulk Hogan And Eric Bischoff's "Third Man" Video Was Pitched WWE Real American Freestyle

The pro wrestling world is still reeling from the loss of one of its biggest icons, Hulk Hogan, who passed away this past Thursday at age 71. As tributes continue to pour in from across the industry, one of Hogan’s closest friends and longtime collaborators, Eric Bischoff, has opened up about their final moments together — a heartfelt, emotional meeting just weeks before The Hulkster’s death.

Speaking on a special tribute episode of his 83 Weeks podcast, Bischoff reflected on Hogan’s final days and the enduring spirit that defined his legendary career and life. Despite his declining health, Hogan remained sharp and engaged, even checking in on the status of their latest project — the Real American Freestyle wrestling promotion.

“He was weak, he sounded tired. But he still had that, ‘What are we doing next?’ kind of energy in his voice,” Bischoff said.

Bischoff recalled how Hogan was still invested in the business, asking about details like potential signees and upcoming events. One of his main concerns was whether they had secured heavyweight prospect Wyatt Hendrickson and how the August Cleveland event — now set to honor Hogan — was shaping up.

What hit Bischoff hardest was Hogan’s humility in the face of his condition. Despite all he’d accomplished and the larger-than-life image fans knew him for, Hogan admitted he was “embarrassed” to be seen in his weakened state.

“He said, ‘Man, I really want to see you, but I’m kinda embarrassed for you to see me like this because I’ve been pretty sick.’ I said, ‘When I look at you, I don’t see what you see in the mirror. So f**k that. I’ll be there Monday.’”

Bischoff followed through, making what would be their final visit. Even as speech became difficult for Hogan, due to recent surgeries and declining health, the WWE Hall of Famer powered through their conversation with the same passion that had made him a household name.

“It was work for him just to have a conversation, but he was the same guy. … He said, ‘Brother, I can’t wait. I might not be able to be on camera for a couple weeks, but I’ll be good on the phone.’ He loved the hunt. He loved the thrill of the next big idea.” [h/t Ringside News]
