Eric Bischoff Reveals Who He Sees As The Future Of Wrestling

Eric Bischoff

Speaking on the latest episode of his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff has named who he believes to be the future of wrestling.

During the ‘Ask Eric Anything’ episode, available on Ad Free Shows, Bischoff was asked who he sees as the future of the business.

First turning his attention to AEW, the former WCW President, singled out MJF as an “amazing young talent.” Bischoff added that he believes that there’s plenty more to come from the leader of The Pinnacle.

“In AEW, I’m a huge fan of MJF. Anybody who follows me on social media probably knows that. He’s just an amazing young talent. The fact that he’s as young as he is and as good as he is, I think we’ve only seen the tip of the iceberg.

“I dig the cat as a performer.”

Switching his gaze to WWE, Bischoff went on to pick a name he feels may surprise a few people, Matt Riddle. The podcaster praised Riddle before expressing his high hopes for the newly formed partnership between Riddle and Randy Orton.

“This one will shock people, maybe, but Matt Riddle. I’m kinda digging it. He’s different and he’s good, and he’s going to get better, and better and better. So I’m kinda digging that. I love the Randy Orton, Matt Riddle combination. I don’t know if that was long term, or just for one night but there’s a tag team, there a buddy cop movie that takes place in the ring. You talk about different types of personalities that could really play well off of each other. I think the potential in entertainment for that combination, i think is off the charts good. But I dig Matt Riddle as a young performer. I think he’s gonna be one of the people that I’m watching coming up.”

Riddle has also commented on the fledgling team in recent days, saying that it’s the “beginning of a beautiful friendship.”

Meanwhile in AEW, MJF is preparing to lead The Pinnacle into battle against The Inner Circle, in the first ever Blood and Guts match. The tension has been building between the two factions for weeks, but things are set to come to a head on May 5th.
