Eric Bischoff Praises MJF Following Dynamite Improv

Eric Bischoff appearing on during the Town Hall MJF/Jericho segment on AEW Dynamite

Eric Bischoff has praised MJF for his improv skills on the most recent episode of After 83 Weeks following his appearance on this week’s AEW Dynamite.

Bischoff made his second-ever AEW appearance during the Chris Jericho/MJF Town Hall segment to determine if MJF should be able to join the Inner Circle. Posing questions to both Jericho and Friedman, Bischoff clearly concluded that Jericho was a primadonna and that MJF had a lot of the same traits, which would most likely lead to in-fighting between the two if Friedman joined.

What wasn’t so clear, however, is that Bischoff actually changed the verbiage of his questions from the pre-prepared notes and only informed Jericho of the change:

“I took what had been prepared for me in the notes [and] I went, ‘Oh yeah. But if I changed it up this way, it won’t change the meaning of anything. It does the exact same thing. It just kind of makes it feel more tuned-in politically, based on the theme of that segment.’ So I went to Chris and I said, ‘hey, Chris, I got an idea.’ He goes, ‘Yeah, go ahead. That’s what you’re here for. Make it your own.’ I went ‘wow, that’s f***ing cool.’ That’s the way I like to work.

Eric Bischoff went on to describe his realisation that he never informed Friedman of the change, heavily praising MJF’s on-the-spot improv skills:

“It wasn’t until last night when I watched it, did I realize that I smartened up Chris, but I didn’t smarten up MJF. He had no idea that question was coming the way I posed it.”

“He just hit that thing like a two-hundred pound softball, just splattered it, didn’t miss a beat… Everybody knows he’s a very talented guy and certainly he knows it. But I was so impressed with the way he didn’t even blink when I changed up the dialogue that he was expecting. That was really cool.”

The segment ended with Chris Jericho challenging MJF to a match at Full Gear on November 8th with the added stipulation that if MJF won, he could join the Inner Circle.
