Eric Bischoff has tipped Mustafa Ali to achieve big things.
On September 21st, Mustafa Ali announced he’d left WWE. The star had requested his release back in 2022, but he was turned down and eventually returned to television. Ali’s exit still came as something of a surprise as he was being advertised for NXT No Mercy where he was scheduled to face Dominik Mysterio for the North American Title.
Dominik Mysterio later described the release as “unfortunate.”
Speaking on his Strictly Business podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff gave his thoughts on the releases. Bischoff said he was surprised WWE didn’t want to release Ali until after his match with Mysterio while praising the star as an “amazing talent.”
“I think he’s an amazing talent. I think the world of him. He’s an amazing talent. I know he [has an] amazing amount of drive and ambition. My guess…if anything, he will be even more motivated and inspired than he was two days ago.”
Eric Bischoff Thinks LA Knight Is Primed To Be A “Massive Star”
Speaking elsewhere, Bischoff also had big praise for LA Knight. The former WCW boss said that Knight will end up being a “massive star” and far bigger than he is now, but WWE isn’t ready to pull the trigger quite yet.
During the conversation, Bischoff placed only Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes ahead of Knight, but their star power means he’ll have to wait for his shot at the top a little longer.
