Jimmy Uso

WWE Reportedly Had WrestleMania 41 Plans for Jimmy Uso, Tag Team Reunion with Jey Now Likely

Jimmy Uso may have been in line for a major push earlier this year.

According to a new report from Cory Hays of Bodyslam, WWE had internal plans for Jimmy to be part of the United States Championship picture at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas. Although those plans didn’t materialize, the interest in giving Jimmy a more prominent singles role was clearly on the table.

Jimmy’s recent run saw him splinter from The Bloodline, feud with Jacob Fatu and LA Knight, and attempt to carve his path on SmackDown. His journey mirrors his brother Jey Uso’s breakout on Raw, where Jey went on to win—and recently lose—the World Heavyweight Championship.

With both Usos currently out of the singles title picture, WWE is reportedly looking to reunite the brothers as a tag team later this year. Their last premium live event appearance as a unit was back at Money in the Bank 2023, followed by a brief team-up on Raw in March 2024.

The speculation comes amid wider discussions about the future of the Bloodline storyline, as WWE continues to evolve its top factions post-WrestleMania season.

AEW

Komander Injured, Written Off AEW With Backstage Attack Angle

AEW’s Summer Blockbuster delivered high-stakes action — and a dose of unfortunate real-world reality.

Originally slated to team with “Speedball” Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight against the Hurt Syndicate, Komander was pulled from the six-man tag match following a backstage ambush. The segment showed the masked luchador attacked and unmasked, left clutching his knee. Commentary later confirmed that he was not medically cleared to compete.

Now, the reason for the angle has been revealed — and it’s not just storyline.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported via X that Komander was legitimately injured, and the segment was AEW’s way of writing him off the card:

“Komander is legitimately injured, which is the reason for the angle. He was pulled from the match today.”

Shortly after, Dave Meltzer provided more context on Wrestling Observer Radio, explaining that the injury happened in Mexico, when Komander slipped during a rope walk into Fosbury Flop — one of his signature, high-risk maneuvers.

According to Meltzer, the incident could have ended in disaster, but veteran luchador Último Guerrero stepped in just in time, potentially saving Komander from a much more serious injury.

While exact details on the severity of Komander’s knee injury haven’t been disclosed, he is no longer expected to appear at this week’s Fantasticamania event, further indicating that recovery may take time.

Jey Uso Drops World Title to Gunther, WWE Reportedly Planning Usos Reunion

The rise of “Main Event” Jey Uso hit a roadblock on Monday Night RAW, but a new chapter may already be taking shape.

On the June 9th episode of RAW, Gunther defeated Jey Uso in a hard-fought main event to recapture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. While The Ring General is now rumored to be heading into a marquee feud with Goldberg ahead of Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12th, WWE also has major plans in motion for Jey Uso following the title loss.

After breaking away from The Bloodline to pursue a solo run, Jey Uso climbed the ranks of WWE’s singles division, eventually capturing the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41. However, with that reign now over, it looks like Jey might be shifting gears once again.

According to Cory Hays of Viper Reports and Bodyslam.net, WWE is considering reuniting Jey with his twin brother, Jimmy Uso, for a tag team run later this year.

“There were rumblings that WWE was looking to pair The Usos back together sometime this year and with Jey dropping the World Heavyweight Championship it’s looking like that could be the direction. The question is how does WWE get them back together in a story on TV.”

The last time The Usos competed in a Premium Live Event as a tag team was back at Money in the Bank 2023, where they faced Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa in a high-profile Bloodline Civil War tag match. They also briefly reunited for a tag bout on the March 24, 2025 edition of RAW—but it was short-lived, as both continued with their singles careers thereafter.

Jey Uso

Jey Uso Set for High-Stakes Street Fight With Gunther After Title Loss

Jey Uso Responds To Doubters Ahead Of Major WWE Match

Jey Uso may have lost his WWE World Heavyweight Championship in shocking fashion, but he isn’t backing down just yet.

On the latest episode of Monday Night RAW, Uso’s 51-day reign as World Heavyweight Champion came to a heartbreaking end. Touted to have a longer run, the former Intercontinental Champion was visibly devastated after the defeat, with his son seen consoling him at ringside.

But now, a new opportunity has emerged for “Main Event” Jey Uso.

WWE has announced that Jey Uso will face Gunther in a Street Fight for the World Heavyweight Championship on the July 11 episode of SmackDown. While the bout is scheduled as a dark match—meaning it won’t air live on TV—it’s still a huge moment in Uso’s ongoing quest to stay in the main event scene.

Although title changes in dark matches are incredibly rare, the match serves as an important momentum-builder. A strong performance against a dominant force like Gunther could easily catapult Uso back into title contention.

Trish Stratus

Update on Trish Stratus Heading into WWE Evolution II

Trish Stratus Reflects On 25 Years Since WWE Debut & Fighting For TV Time

WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus is stepping into a new kind of ring—and this time, it’s on the big screen.

While currently away from WWE programming, Stratus has been keeping busy. Her last appearance came at Elimination Chamber earlier this year, where she teamed with Tiffany Stratton to defeat Candice LeRae and Nia Jax. With the highly anticipated Evolution II just around the corner, fans are speculating about a potential return. But Stratus has her hands full with another major project.

According to Fightful, the multi-time WWE Women’s Champion is set to star in the upcoming action-comedy film Karate Ghost.

Stratus will be taking on the role of Susan Fanshawe, a former beauty pageant queen who has evolved—or maybe devolved—into a hyper-competitive karate mom obsessed with martial arts. It’s a character that’s equal parts comedy and chaos, and should give Stratus plenty of room to show off her personality in a new medium.

Stratus won’t be the only WWE name in Karate Ghost. WWE backstage interviewer Cathy Kelley is also set to make her film debut. Kelley will play Liz, a perpetually frustrated lawyer trying to stop the outlandish ambitions of a small-town mayor.

Set in a bizarre town governed by “Karate Law,” the movie promises over-the-top action, plenty of laughs, and a unique twist on the martial arts genre. Think Cobra Kai meets small-town sitcom—with a paranormal twist.

No release date has been confirmed, but with both Stratus and Kelley attached, Karate Ghost is sure to generate buzz among WWE fans and moviegoers alike.

Eric Bischoff

Eric Bischoff Believes WWE Could Bring Back Matt Riddle

Eric Bischoff On When He’ll Step Away From Wrestling

Despite his controversial WWE exit, Matt Riddle might not be done with WWE just yet—at least according to Eric Bischoff.

Riddle was released from WWE in September 2023 following a series of controversies, including a reported 60-day suspension for violating the company’s Wellness Policy. Before his release, the former UFC fighter had a solid run in WWE, capturing the United States Championship and forming a wildly popular tag team with Randy Orton known as RK-Bro.

Now thriving on the independent circuit and internationally, Riddle has seemingly moved on. But former WWE and WCW executive Eric Bischoff thinks the door may still be open.

Speaking on the latest 83 Weeks podcast with Conrad Thompson, Bischoff had high praise for Riddle’s intelligence and charisma, suggesting that his talents are too valuable for WWE to ignore forever.

“He is an incredibly intelligent guy. It’s so easy to write him off because of the way he presents himself, but if you underestimate that guy intellectually… he’s a very, very smart man.

I would not be surprised if he’s not back in WWE. He’s a very entertaining performer. I would be shocked if he didn’t end up back in WWE.” — Eric Bischoff, 83 Weeks (H/T: WrestlingNews.co)

While a potential WWE return is on the table, Bischoff was far less enthusiastic about the idea of Riddle signing with AEW. He emphasized the importance of chemistry and the right creative environment—something he believes Riddle may struggle to find in Tony Khan’s promotion.

“He would need to be in an environment where he had a lot of people that he could work with, that he could get chemistry with. I’m not sure that you could get that in AEW. For Matt to have fun, he’s gotta be able to work with the right people. I just don’t think there’s enough of them.”

Riddle has yet to make any public comments about returning to WWE—or any other major promotion—but with his name still generating buzz, it may just be a matter of time before fans hear that bro chant echoing through a WWE arena once again.
