Eric Bischoff Compares Ric Flair To Mick Jagger

Ric Flair & Mick Jagger

Eric Bischoff has compared Ric Flair getting back in the ring to Mick Jagger continuing to tour with The Rolling Stones.

It has recently been confirmed that Ric Flair will be getting his wrestling rocks off one more time at the grand old age of 73. The announcement brought a mixture of excitement, bewilderment and genuine concern from fans in light of the star’s serious health issues in recent years.

Although it’s been said that you can’t always get what you want, Flair is on a mission to end his career on a high note, after admitting that he “can’t stand” his most recent matches.

While it’s unlikely that Flair and his adversaries, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, will be tearing around the ring like a group of wild horses, all concerned will be determined to put on a good show.

Speaking on the latest episode of his podcast, 83 Weeks, available via AdFreeShows, Eric Bischoff who has worked extensively with Flair in the past, gave his opinion on the comeback. Bischoff explained that if Flair can get into good enough shape to do everything he needs to do, there’s no reason he shouldn’t perform.

“If you can get yourself in shape and do the things you have to do… no, Ric Flair doesn’t need to do this, but he wants to do it,” Bischoff said. “I can’t wait to be there. I wanna just get a taste of that big ball of vibe, I really do. I wanna be there when it happens.”

Expanding further, Bischoff compared Flair to Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger. The former WCW President explained that in the same way that the Stones don’t need to perform for the money, Flair wants to perform because he loves it.

Ahead of the bout, Flair has even promised to go jumpin’ Jack Flash off the top rope, in search of satisfaction. After all, it’s only rock ‘n roll…

It has also been announced that Inside The Ropes’ very own Kenny McIntosh will be hosting a special panel at Starrcast V featuring Bret Hart, as he looks back on his legendary clash with the British Bulldog at SummerSlam 30 years ago.
