At WWE Money In The Bank, Charlotte Flair defeated Rhea Ripley to regain the RAW Women’s Championship.
After the match, WWE recognised Flair as a 14-time champion, including her NXT and tag team title reigns in her world championship record.
However, the following night on RAW during an-ring promo, Flair referred to herself as an 11-time champion.
In the promo, Flair said that she was a five-time RAW, five-time SmackDown Women’s Champion, and one-time Divas Champion seemingly removing her two NXT Women’s Title’s and the Women’s Tag Team Title runs from her record.
Interestingly Charlotte’s Twitter bio still refers to her as a “13 x champion”.
The reduction in title reigns certainly raised some eyebrows, but Eric Bischoff believes that the move is a good thing. Speaking on his ‘For the Heat’ radio show with Conrad Thompson, Bischoff said:
“Well, I get that, though, I get it a lot. And if I’m Charlotte Flair, I’m smiling all the way to the Bank. (Do) you know what I mean? Talk about job security. If somebody makes the conscious decision, ‘Oh you know, she is already at 14. We’ve got a couple more before we hit 16. How can we make more money doing that?’ Ha, ha! I like that! If I’m Charlotte Flair’s money-manager, I am smiling. That’s good news for her.”
Charlotte Flair is now on the warpath to become 12-time Women’s Champion after losing her newly won title to Nikki A.S.H the night after Money In The Bank. Nikki cashed in her Money In The Bank contract after Flair had been beaten down by Rhea Ripley.
Charlotte is scheduled to face RAW Women’s Champion Nikki A.S.H and Rhea Ripley in a Triple Threat match at SummerSlam.
