Former WCW President Eric Bischoff has explained why a current champion in WWE is, in his opinion, the greatest character that wrestling has at the moment.
Bischoff was discussing the current WWE product on his After 83 Weeks show available via AdFreeShows.com. According to the WWE Hall Of Famer there is one character in today’s wrestling product that stands head and shoulders above the rest – and she should, she’s Big Time:
“Just to watch Becky [Lynch]. And I say that – I mean, she is the best character in wrestling right now. I mean, she is so authentic. You know, I was thinking about this. It’s funny you brought her name up. I was thinking about her a little while ago.”
Eric Bischoff then explained the quality Becky Lynch had that makes her eminently watchable, the holy grail for wrestling characters – authenticity:
“Somebody asked me a question; it was in an earlier interview about what’s missing? Why doesn’t wrestling feel the way it felt before. I think it’s authenticity. There are so very few authentic-feeling characters, especially in WWE, because everything is so well-crafted and polished, except for Becky. Even her social media, there is something special about her as a performer. She really gets it. So, I watch her.”
Lynch is set to have her hands full on the 6th of December edition of Monday Night Raw as Big Time Becks puts her Raw Women’s Championship on the line against Liv Morgan.
