Eric Bischoff has voiced his belief that LA Knight will be a future star for the WWE.
However, Bischoff also made it clear that Knight is not the top priority for WWE at the moment. During an episode of his podcast 83 Weeks, Bischoff shared his thoughts on LA Knight’s trajectory, stating:
I think LA Knight is going to end up being a massive star, [but] not yet. He’s a big star, he’s a huge star, but he’s not as big as he’s going to be in the future. He is a massive star in the waiting room.
Bischoff’s reasoning for placing Knight in the waiting room is simple: he believes there are two individuals currently ahead of him in WWE’s pecking order. The first is Roman Reigns, whom Bischoff considers to be the top name in WWE right now. Additionally, Bischoff identifies Cody Rhodes as the second most important figure on the roster. Speaking about Rhodes, Bischoff stated:
Cody is the future of the WWE over the next 24 to 36 months for sure.
While Bischoff acknowledges Knight’s immense potential, he suggests that the immediate future of WWE revolves around Rhodes. Bischoff speculates that most of the planning and conversations within the company are focused on Rhodes and his role at WrestleMania. However, he also acknowledges that the wrestling landscape can change rapidly due to injuries, emerging stars, and other unforeseen circumstances.
Is WWE Going To Push LA Knight?
Reports have surfaced indicating that LA Knight may not have to wait long before making a significant impact. There are rumours of a potential “mega push” for Knight, driven by his highly rated segments and impressive merchandise sales. If these reports hold true, Knight could soon find himself propelled out of Bischoff’s metaphorical waiting room and into the spotlight.
