WWE and UFC’s relationship just got one step stronger.
The Stamford-based promotion is currently busy touring the United Kingdom on their live tour. At the tour’s final show in Manchester on October 16th, Cody Rhodes defeated Solo Sikoa in a steel cage match. With only a few weeks left for Crown Jewel, Rhodes and Gunther appeared together in the ring to build up their match.
Soon after, another star fighter joined the two inside the squared circle. The American Nightmare invited English UFC fighter Tom Aspinall to the ring. Aspinall joined Gunther and Rhodes and shared a moment with the duo.
At the WWE Live event in Manchester, Aspinall also spoke to Sun Sport and teased a jump to pro wrestling upon his MMA retirement.
When I have retired from MMA, I’m switching over to WWE. And I’m going to be the WWE heavyweight champ.”
The Interim heavyweight Champion is currently the back for Jon Jones during his fight against Stipe Miocic next month. A part of UFC since 2020, the 31-year-old expressed his desire to leave the Octagon and join the Stamford-based promotion to earn their top prize, later upon his retirement.
In the past, multiple UFC fighters have completed their jump to the wrestling promotion, and Aspinall could be the next big name.
In a new interview, the UFC fighter has further hinted at a WWE appearance.
Randy Orton Issues A Warning To Kevin Owens During WWE’s UK Tour
At the promotion’s ongoing UK tour, Randy Orton issued a warning to Kevin Owens after their recent fallout. At the recent SmackDown episode, Owens turned on Orton and destroyed their friendship, which led to a threat from The Viper:
Hey Owens, once I get back to the States, once I get back across the pond. I am coming for ya. And I’m whippin’ your a**. You got one coming.”
In other news: Cody Rhodes has compared himself with this top Manchester City player.
