Though it is not known what she will say or who she will mark as her first target, the ‘War Goddess’ seemed to be very interested in current NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai on Sunday night at NXT TakeOver 31 and the gold that lay around her waist.
The last time Ember Moon held the women’s division’s top prize prior to moving to WWE’s main roster was when she defeated Kairi Sane, Peyton Royce and Nikki Cross at NXT TakeOver: WarGames on November 17, 2017.
Moon’s championship reign lasted just 140 days and was dominated by her legendary feud with Shayna Baszler who she finally succumbed to at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans on April 7, 2018.
The thought of an Io Shirai vs. Ember Moon rivalry over the NXT Women’s Championship is enough to make a mouth water, not to mention the possibilities of Moon vs. Rhea Ripley and Moon vs. Toni Storm should she return to the brand with a new heel persona.
Ember Moon made her return to NXT at TakeOver 31 when she revealed herself to be the mystery biker who had sent ominous video messages on NXT television in the weeks before her homecoming.
