One half of the new NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions, Ember Moon has revealed that she considered retirement at the start of 2020.
Posting on Instagram the former NXT Women’s Champion revealed that it had taken a few days for her to process her latest achievement and that she almost walked away from wrestling a year go.
It’s taken me a few days to process this. Last year around this time I was thinking I would never enter ring again and was considering retiring. And now I can call myself champion again. 2 years 11months since the last time I held gold. And I am doing it with someone I truly consider a sister, @shotziblackheart . She has been there to lift me up , to make me laugh, have my back, and even hold me back when I was wrong. Shotzi makes me want to be soo much better as a person and a performer. We are 2 peas in a smoke filled tank. I love ya ttp. For the first time in a long time I am having fun and my passion has been reignited on entirely different level. Thank you @tripleh! This is only the beginning… and I am soo thankful to be HOME at NXT!
Ember Moon signed for WWE in 2015, initially appearing as Adrien Reese, before being repackaged as Ember Moon the following year. Moon would eventually go on to win the NXT Women’s Championship before moving up to the main roster in 2018.
However, her time on the main roster would be blighted by injury, and unable to gain any real momentum ‘The War Goddess’ failed to hit the heights that she had on the black and gold brand.
Moon returned to NXT in 2020 and would be teaming with Shotzi Blackheart by the end of the year. Moon and Blackheart lost out to Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai in the final of the Dusty Cup, but would get revenge pining the duo, who had only been awarded the newly created titles earlier in the night, on the March 10th edition of NXT to claim the gold.
