Ember Moon has teased debuting for All Elite Wrestling, eyeing up a potential showdown with the TBS Champion, Jade Cargill.
Ember Moon was one of the many WWE releases from 2021, released on 4 November after a six-year career with Vince McMahon’s sports entertainment giant. ‘The War Goddess’, now wrestling under her previous moniker of Athena, is now looking ahead to her future following the recent expiration of her non-compete clause.
Taking to Twitter, the 33-year-old quote-tweeted current AEW star Jade Cargill. Cargill, the reigning AEW TBS Champion, had herself quote-tweeted a video from the official AEW account, reiterating that her TBS Championship defences remain open challenges. Athena quite simply tweeted her interest in challenging for the championship:

First appearing for WWE at August 2016’s NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II, the former Ember Moon would go on an undefeated streak en-route to challenging Asuka for the NXT Women’s Championship the following April. Although her streak ended at the hands of ‘The Empress of Tomorrow’, Moon would finally capture the championship, winning the vacant title in a four-way over Survivor Series 2017 weekend.
An ill-fated run on the main roster led Ember Moon back to NXT, where she and Shotzi Blackheart captured the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships. Moon’s final NXT outing would come on its 5 October broadcast, where she lost a four-and-a-half-minute clash to Toxic Attraction’s Mandy Rose, with her release being made official just under a month later.
Should she sign for All Elite Wrestling, Ember Moon will join a plethora fellow WWE-to-AEW signings, including William Regal, Buddy Matthews, Keith Lee, Swerve Strickland, and most recently, Jeff Hardy.
