Elayna Black Pulls Out Of GCW Match After Signing With WWE

Game Changer Wrestling have announced that Elayna Black vs. Joey Janela at The WRLD On GCW Part III has been cancelled over the weekend of January 30, 2021.

After several days of back and forth on social media, the group announced that the pair were due to meet at the upcoming event which will stage twenty four hours of wrestling without a break in aid of charity. However, merely five minutes after the announcement, the advertising for the bout was pulled and it was officially cancelled.

The reason for the cancellation comes as no surprise to anyone. Elayna Black recently announced her signing with WWE under the name Cora Jade and under the terms of her contract will not be permitted to appear for any other promotion not associated with the company, especially against an AEW talent.

Taking to Twitter, Black expressed her disappointment and apologised to fans for letting them down, stating:

“So sorry to all the fans @GCWrestling_ & @JANELABABY for not being able to make the show. Some things kinda came up but it’s still going to be a sick show so please watch and continue to donate if possible.”

WWE’s most recent signing – along with Priscilla Kelly (Gigi Dolin) and Lacey Ryan (Zoe Stark) who were the other signees – will make her official debut for the company on the January 22 edition of 205 Live teaming with Gigi Dolin in the opening round of the Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic against Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell.
