Edge Wins The Men’s Royal Rumble Match From #1

Edge

WWE Hall of Famer Edge has stamped his ticket to WrestleMania by winning the Royal Rumble – outlasting every other competitor after entering at the number one position!

Edge had been announced to enter at number two, with Orton scheduled to enter at one on WWE Backstage – but the positions would be switched on the night. The Rated-R Superstar would be the first and last man standing, spending 58 minutes in the ring, with Orton being the final man eliminated. The Viper had been taken away injured early on, before making a surprise return after Edge eliminated a returning Seth Rollins.

The WWE Hall of Famer’s victory wouldn’t just see a storyline with The Viper brought full circle, but his entire redemption story – having returned to the ring during the 2020 Royal Rumble Match after over eight years away from the ring, following an emotional retirement. The match would also see a monumental return with Edge’s long-term tag team partner Christian making an appearance, with the pair hugging in the middle of the squared circle in an incredibly heartwarming moment.

Meanwhile in the women’s match, Bianca Belair would win from the number three position. A full list of participants across both matches is available here.
