According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Edge will challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 37.

During the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer’s co-host, Bryan Alvarez, questioned his friend on the rumours that Edge would pick ‘The Tribal Chief’ on ‘The Grandest Stage of Them All’ over Drew McIntyre:

“Yes, that is the plan and I don’t anticipate it changing watching TV tonight. It seemed pretty clear he wasn’t going to challenge him [Drew McIntyre] and Drew McIntyre’s going to wrestle Sheamus, although that may be the next pay-per-view.”

Following the confrontation between WWE Champion and ‘The Rated-R Superstar’ on the February 1 Monday Night Raw, it was announced that Edge would appear on the February 5 Friday Night SmackDown to also clash with Roman Reigns where it is expected that he will be given ample reason to choose ‘The Head of the Table.’

On January 31, Edge won the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match after entering number one and lasting just shy of an hour before eliminating Seth Rollins and finally Randy Orton to claim his spot on either April 10 or April 11.

During the same event, Roman Reigns retained the WWE Universal Championship against Kevin Owens in a Last Man Standing Match – the feud ending affair – when he rendered him helpless with a Guillotine Choke.
