It has been announced that Edge will take on Jay Uso in a match to determine who will be the special enforcer at Fastlane for the Universal Title match between Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan.

Edge opened the March 12th edition of SmackDown delivering a passionate promo about his potential meeting with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, voicing his displeasure at how he feels Daniel Bryan has inserted himself into the situation by getting his match at Fastlane. This brought out Bryan, and the pair went back and forth until Edge told Bryan “You’re better than this… but not better than me.”

Edge would later run into Jey Uso backstage and attempt to get him to see the error of his ways in recent months in following Roman Reigns, calling him a “lap dog” for the Big Dog.

This all laid the foundations for the contract signing between Reigns and Bryan that would close the show.

Adam Peace came out to the ring to oversee the contract signing and Bryan immediately signed for the match at Fastlane but Reigns refused. Bryan verbally attacked Reigns anointing himself the ‘Head Of The Table.’ This all angered a watching Jey Uso who said that the match between the two needed a special enforcer. In turn this brought out Edge who suggested that he and Uso go one-on-one next week to determine who the enforcer will be at Fastlane.

The upcoming clash with Uso be the Rated R Superstar’s first match on SmackDown in 10 years. The former WWE Champion last competed in the ring on the blue brand back in March 2011 where he defeated a young Drew McIntyre.

Also confirmed for the show, Sasha Banks will defend her WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship against Nia Jax.
