Edge and Kurt Angle recreated one of their most infamous segments 20 years after the fact on the latest Monday Night Raw!
Back in April of 2002, Edge and Kurt Angle were both part of the SmackDown brand under the recently-created brand extension. Ahead of their clash at Backlash, the two took part in a backstage segment that would go on to be one of the most talked about in both their WWE Hall of Fame careers.
During the segment, Angle lamented losing a number one contender’s match to Hulk Hogan before being confronted by Edge, who he was set to face later in the night. The future Rated R Superstar presented Angle with a series of photographs, alleging that he wanted to make amends with his former Team ECK ally – but on the back of the photos, he wrote a series of disparaging messages to mock the Olympic gold medalist which led to the creation of the “You Suck” chant.
Fast forward 20 years, and the August 29th episode of Monday Night Raw saw the two recreate the segment in Angle’s hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. In a trip down memory lane, Edge – who is set to team with Rey Mysterio against The Judgment Day this weekend at Clash at the Castle – once again presented Angle with a series of images, this time with callbacks to their Hall of Fame careers and times the Toronto native had the upper hand over Angle.

Earlier in the night, Angle addressed the Pittsburgh crowd only to be interrupted by Alpha Academy. Chad Gable and Otis went on to declare that if they were able to defeat the Street Profits, the Olympic gold medalist would have to join Alpha Academy – but in the end, Street Profits were victorious and celebrated by drinking milk with Angle in another career callback.
