Edge Joins Forces With Damian Priest, Defeats AJ Styles

Edge celebrates with Damian Priest

Edge has defeated AJ Styles at WrestleMania 38, unveiling a new alliance in the process!

At WrestleMania 38 Edge squared off against AJ Styles in a bout many fans considered a dream match.

Incredibly, Styles was bleeding from the face before he made it to the ring, seemingly bumping his head on the set as he emerged from backstage. Not that Styles let the injury phase him, going toe-to-toe with the Hall of Famer in the early stages.

While Styles held an early advantage, Edge fought back targeting his rivals’ shoulder to great affect. Despite this, Styles came battling back, hitting a springboard DDT before hitting a rack bomb.

After the Phenomenal One kicked out of a springboard powerbomb, both men climbed to the top turnbuckle. In the end it was Styles who got the best of the exchange, hitting the Rated R Superstar with a suplex onto the apron.

However, the fall took a lot out of both men, as they narrowly avoided being counted out. Back in the ring, Styles landed a 450 splash before finally delivering the Styles clash. Despite nailing the move to perfection, Edge just got his shoulder off the canvas.

Not to be deterred, Styles went in search of the Phenomenal Forearm, but he was distracted by Damian Priest who arrived silently at ringside. The pause left Edge just enough time to recover, meaning he was able to hit a Spear on Styles as he launched back into the ring.

After the match, both Priest and Edge posed together in the ring, sealing their alliance with a maniacal grin.

Elsewhere on the night, Sasha Banks and Naomi won the Women’s Tag Team Titles, while Johnny Knoxville defeated Sami Zayn in a bizarre encounter which ended with the latter trapped in a giant mousetrap.
