Eddie Kingston Undergoes Surgery; When Will He Return To AEW?

Eddie Kingston in AEW

Eddie Kingston was finally able to undergo surgery for an injury suffered in May.

At NJPW Resurgence on May 11th, Eddie Kingston faced off against Gabe Kidd for the NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship. The bad blood between the pair came to a head as the match become a brutal war. In the end, it was Kidd who emerged with the gold after dropping Kingston through a table on the outside.

Losing his championship was only a fraction of the trouble for Kingston on that day, however. When Kingston went through the table during the match, his leg hit a barricade. Afterwards, The Mad King could be seen to be limping through the post-match angle and was later said to be limping “bad” backstage.

Kingston later confirmed that he’d suffered a torn ACL and meniscus on top of a tibia fracture. He needed to wait for the tibia fracture to heal before surgeons could begin work on his knee, extending the time he was expected to be out of the ring.

On July 9th, the star took to social media to reveal that he’d finally been able to have the necessary surgery, writing:

Well it’s done. So what up !
