Eddie Kingston isn’t happy with Bryan Danielson being called the greatest wrestler of all time.
When accepting the challenge laid down by Danielson for Forbidden Door, NJPW star Kazuchika Okada claimed that the match would show “who is the real Best In The World.”
The Rainmaker isn’t alone in seeing Danielson as one of the best to ever grace a ring, with Tony Schiavone and Excalibur having made the claim on commentary many times since he debuted for AEW at All Out in 2021.
The last time it happened, though, Kingston wasn’t having any of it.

Eddie Kingston took issue with Tony Schiavone calling Bryan Danielson the GOAT
The subject came up when Schiavone and Kingston were guests on the latest edition of ‘What Happened When’. The commentator recalled a recent Dynamite where he described Danielson as “probably the best professional wrestler he’d ever seen,” and his phine immediately lit up.
“We were talking about Bryan Danielson one night, it was probably a couple of weeks ago, and I said, ‘Bryan Danielson is probably the best professional wrestler I’ve ever seen.’ My phone lights up. It’s Eddie Kingston. ‘It’s Terry Funk. You f**k.'”
Kingston gave his side of things, saying he was watching the show after hernia surgery and couldn’t let it go unsaid that Terry Funk is the real GOAT.
“I’m sitting there after hernia surgery, watching Dynamite on one of the f**king Turner stations, and I hear the blasphemy coming out of Excalibur and Schiavone’s mouth about Bryan Danielson being the GOAT.
“I said, ‘Absolutely not, I can’t let this go.’ I got a group chat with the guys, so I got, ‘Hey f**kos, it’s Terry Funk, the greatest of all time.'”
Regardless of Kingston’s thoughts on the matter, the bout between The American Dragon and Okada is likely to make many minds up on who the best wrestler really is.
