Further details have emerged surrounding the alleged heat between Eddie Kingston and Sammy Guevara, with Kingston seemingly putting the issues behind him.
News emerged overnight that ‘The Mad King’ had reportedly served a brief suspension from AEW after he swung at Sammy Guevara. This stemmed from ‘The Spanish God’ allegedly commenting on Kingston’s physical appearance in a removed-from-television promo.
Fightful Select has now come forward with further information on the matter, noting how Eddie Kingston had directly asked to work against Sammy Guevara. Guevara had allegedly become renowned as being strict with his feuds, with a stringent rule not to mention his ex-fiancee.
The three-time AEW TNT Champion supposedly referred to Kingston as a “fat piece of sh*t”. Eddie, in retaliation, screamed at Sammy Guevara and pie-faced him. This left Guevara “incredibly” upset, resulting in Kingston’s suspension. On the matter, Eddie simply stated to Fightful, “I was wrong. That is all.”
Eddie Kingston and Sammy Guevara’s feud has been a focal point of the Blackpool Combat Club vs. Jericho Appreciation Society story, which included the latter taking a fall off the Blood & Guts cage. Their rivalry will continue on this Friday’s AEW Rampage, as Guevara and Tay Melo face Kingston’s partners Ortiz and Rubo Soho.
It’s believed the duo were to collide at the 4 September pay-per-view, a match Eddie Kingston was scheduled to win. It’s unknown if the match is still going ahead or if Eddie will return in time for All Out at all.
