Eddie Kingston is back on AEW Dynamite and he is coming for Chris Jericho!

The Mad King Eddie Kingston has returned to AEW Dynamite and he has sights firmly set on Chris Jericho as the Innner Circle has continued to fall apart.

Tension between members of the Inner Circle has been rising for a number of weeks, with Santana and Ortiz feeling increasingly frustrated by their role within the group. Seeds that were planted by Eddie Kingston, who said that the team had been held back by Jericho, and it meant they were missing out on tag team gold.

This led to Jericho and Kingston trading barbs, while a match between Santana & Ortiz and Chris Jericho and Jake Hager was set for the February 16th episode of Dynamite.

However, before the bell rang to start the bout, Kingston made his return to television following an eye injury, to be in the corner of his friends.

For the most part, Kingston remained out of harms way, but when he did venture to the apron in support of Santana and Ortiz he was drop-kicked to the floor by Jericho. After the former AEW World Champion was pinned, he immediately went after Kingston, with the pair being separated by referees.

The February 16th episode of AEW Dynamite had opened with a cross-legged CM Punk in the ring with microphone in hand.

Sat in the ring, Punk started by saying “My name is CM Punk… and I’m better than you.” He followed this up by running down his impact on the wrestling business. The former WWE star then turned his attention to MJF, saying that he would face him again at AEW Revolution on March 6th.

As for the match stipulation, this required a little more thought. Punk wondered whether a Cage Match suffice, but eventually turned down the idea. The former World Champion said that seeing as MJF wanted to be Roddy Piper so bad, he’d face him in a Dog Collar Match, as he pulled a collar from a box in front of him asking MJF to be his Valentine.

A reference to the famous Dog Collar Match between Roddy Piper and Greg Valentine.
