Despite being in the midst of a bubbling AEW rivalry with Chris Jericho and an ongoing GCW programme, we may not see much of Eddie Kingston in the ring for the next few weeks.

PWInsider first reported that Kingston had recently suffered an injury, which was announced during tapings for AEW Dark by Tony Khan.

Dave Meltzer commented further on Wrestling Observer Radio, stating Kingston is out of action with a fractured orbital bone, though recovery time is said to be ‘around three weeks’.

‘The Mad King’ hasn’t been in the ring since last week’s AEW Dark, where he defeated Joey Janela, though he has continued to appear on Dynamite to further his ongoing programme opposite Daniel Garcia and 2point0, and his growing issue with Jericho.

This injury will also keep him off the upcoming THE WRLD ON GCW event which takes place on January 23rd, as despite being called out by AJ Gray, Kingston’s injury means the match is now unlikely to go ahead.

Eddie Kingston recently ratcheted up his war of words with Chris Jericho by claiming that Santana and Ortiz would already be AEW Tag Team Champions if it wasn’t for Le Champion:

“I have my own opinion on Jericho. I don’t want his help, I don’t need his help. He’s helping out PNP, but are they world tag team champions? No, because they are busy dealing with Jericho’s beef. You can put this on clickbait, clickbait the sh*t out of this if it wasn’t for Chris Jericho and his beef with random people, Proud N Powerful would be world tag team champions.”
