Eddie Kingston On Which Wrestlers Motivate Him

Eddie Kingston debuted in All Elite Wrestling as part of the TNT Title Open Challenge in July, 2020 and has not looked back since.

Having been signed to a contract shortly after his TNT Title challenge, Kingston caught the AEW fanbase’s attention through his passionate promos and gusty performances.

Speaking with Renee Paquette on her Oral Sessions podcast, Kingston alluded to his Full Gear pay per view main event against Jon Moxely and his desire to return to the main event scene.

However the Mad King chose to play down his chances, noting the work required to sit at the top table and alluding to his own laziness – something that Paquette disputed.

When pressed on his motivations, Kingston had the following to say:

Ok, I motivate myself, and I got a very small knit of friends, like a family, who motivate me; and actually know how to talk to me to get me going.

Homicide’s number one, that’s my best friend. Low Ki, is another one, y’know what I mean. When I talk to Mox, he motivates me by just him being him, y’know what I mean, just making me laugh. Brodie still motivates me. I think about my Mom and my Dad, and stuff like that. Just weird things like that run through my head when I’m like ‘Okay, I’m a get up’. My girlfriend motivates me – for the first time in my life a girlfriend motivates me.

Kingston is set to face PAC on AEW Dynamite this evening, as night two of the New Year’s Smash specials.
