Not only Bubba Ray Dudley, but another ECW veteran, has returned to WWE.
The 6th November episode of NXT at the ECW 2300 Arena clashed with the AEW Dynamite in a much-awaited encounter. While both promotions delivered two of the most must-watch episodes in a long time, the show at the 2300 Arena included multiple surprises.
The night began with a hardcore match between Jaida Parker and Lola Vice, with Dawn Marie as the special guest referee. Later, D-Von Dudley returned after Trick Williams and Bubba Ray Dudley’s match against Ethan Page and Ridge Holland. The match between Wes Lee and Je’Von Evans also had the surprise return of Rob Van Dam.
However, time stopped when ECW veteran Nunzio made his return to the WWE ring after 16 years. The 52-year-old lost to Tony D’Angelo for the North American Championship in a short-lived match. The bout finished with The Family sharing a heartwarming embrace with Nunzio and Tony Mamaluke.
The two-time ECW tag-team champion’s final match in the Stamford-based promotion was against Umaga in 2008.
Ava Raine Confirms The Return Of WWE NXT Deadline PLE
On the 6th November episode of General Manager Ava Raine announced the return of the Deadline PPV. Deadline is set to return on December 7 from Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The popular Iron Survivor Challenge matches are also set to return, although the participants have not yet been announced.
With the show going extreme for one night only, multiple ECW legends made cameo appearances on NXT.
