A notable name from the world of ECW has let the fans know that they will be back on WWE NXT and will hopefully be in action on their next visit.
On November 6th, NXT went extreme for one night only as they took over the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, the site of many major shows in the extreme promotion’s history. With cameos taking place throughout the night, two stars factored into matches as Dawn Marie served as the special guest referee in the women’s hardcore match and Bubba Ray Dudley teamed with Trick Williams later in the show.
Also appearing on the show was Rob Van Dam, who announced he would be at the taping the previous week. Initially attacked by Wes Lee backstage, the Hall of Famer appeared live in front of the crowd later in the night to prevent Lee from using a steel chair to allow Je’Von Evans to capitalise and win the match.
Much like Bubba Ray Dudley, fans expected Van Dam to factor into the Lee vs. Evans match and potentially make the match a 3-way. Responding to a fan on social media, Van Dam also wished that he could have had a match on the special edition of the show but vowed to make his eventual return:
Me too. But I’ll be back.
Which Other Legends Appeared At WWE NXT?
Although multiple ECW names were announced to be in Philadelphia ahead of time, surprises also appeared throughout the night. With WWE Hall of Famers and notable ECW alumni making their presence felt on the show, the latest episode of NXT was a very newsworthy show.
In recent news, D-Von Dudley was reportedly not medically cleared to have a physical involvement in the November 6th episode of NXT.
