ECW legend believes modern wrestlers should follow Rob Van Dam’s example.
A Former ECW World Champion with a career spanning different promotions, Jerry Lynn recently opened up on a vital aspect of modern-day wrestling. Currently signed with AEW as a producer, Lynn addressed one part of the modern fast-paced wrestling, before criticizing it.
Speaking on Wrestling Shoot Interviews, Lynn shared his thoughts on the ‘stalemate spot’. Not a fan of the spot, Lynn opened up on the issues there in modern-day wrestling before asking the wrestlers to follow in the footsteps of Rob Van Dam.
We [Rob and I] were trying to hit each other with wrestling moves. Like, I would trip him. I’d try and drop an elbow on him. He’d move. He’d do that flip leg drop. I would move. And now we’re at the stalemate. But here’s the difference too; a lot of these guys, when they do these standoffs or whatever, they’re not even at the end of it, they’ll turn to the camera or just do a pose or look at the crowd and hold their arms out…go ‘Look what I can do’ and beg for a reaction.”
The ex-ROH World Champion believes wrestlers nowadays are working hard for reactions instead of taking home the victory.
“I don’t want to cut down other people’s work. There’s so many talented guys out there that can do stuff I never can do. But you can still make it look like you’re trying to win a match.”

At 61 years old, Lynn enjoyed an illustrative career before retiring on March 23, 2013, and had once enjoyed a memorable feud with RVD in ECW.
Another ECW Legend Believes WWE Hall Of Fame Is “Bullsh*t”
Speaking on DonutShopChronicles365, ECW legend Sabu discussed his future Hall of Fame induction before stating that he might never be inducted. He further went on to call the recognition ‘bullsh*t’.
I don’t know. Probably never, really. I’m not eligible for the WWE Hall of Fame, not that I want to be anyway, because I didn’t have a Hall of Fame career while I was there. Another Hall of Fame, who knows.
I appreciate that. Rob Van Dam is Hall of Fame material too, but is Drew Carey? Is Drew Carey Hall of Fame material? He goes in it, that means it’s going to be bulls**t. If he’s in it, it’s bulls**t.”
