EC3 Heading To Ring Of Honor

EC3 is heading to Ring of Honor

After initially being teased back in June, it appears that the former TNA Heavyweight Champion EC3 will be making his Ring of Honor debut in the coming weeks.

A new teaser video appeared at the conclusion of this week’s episode of ROH TV. It shows what appears to be EC3 and four masked figures all sporting hoodies bearing the same logo that was featured in an earlier video for EC3, as well as in videos featuring him in IMPACT Wrestling.

EC3 had been working for WWE from 2018 until he was released by the company along with a slate of others in April of this year as part of pandemic related cost-cutting measures. Since then, he has been appearing on IMPACT Wrestling feuding with Moose over the TNA Championship, but has also wrestled elsewhere during this time such as for Black Label Pro.

As of late ROH TV has been focused exclusively on a tournament to crown a new Pure Champion, the first since the belt was retired in 2006 by Bryan Danielson, more commonly known now as Daniel Bryan. During the championship’s original incarnation, it was also held by such competitors as AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, and Nigel McGuinness. It will be interesting to see how EC3 fits into the current state of Ring of Honor.

This development also suggests that talent could be shared by Ring of Honor and IMPACT going forward. This was common during the early years of the two companies.
