New team uniforms have been revealed as part of the 2023 XFL relaunch, with the franchise being part owned by Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia.

The announcement was made on ESPN’s SportCenter, where a spotlight was shone onto each of the 8 teams. The promotional video promises each of the teams having a dynamic logo, distinct identity and aligns with the teams distinct culture. The franchise has partnered with Under Armour, who have previously collaborated with Dwayne Johnson as part of the Project Rock range of performance clothing.

Dwayne Johnson Continues To Build The Hype To The Relaunch Of The XFL

The teams taking part in the relaunch are the Arlington Renegades, the Houston Roughnecks, the Vegas Vipers, the Orlando Guardians, the St. Louis BattleHawks, the San Antonio Brahmas, the Seattle Sea Dragons and the DC Defenders. Training camps have been scheduled to begin on January 8th, 2023, and the regular season to begin on February 18th, 2023.

The XFL was originally a creation by Vince McMahon, with the first and only full season kicking off in 2001, and the sport not returning for another season until the 2020 revival. The 2020 relaunch did not complete a full season, with the pandemic heavily impacting the sport. Dwayne Johnson would go on to acquire the brand from McMahon in 2020 with business partner Dany Garcia.

Relaunching the XFL, starring as Black Adam in the movie of the same name and producing Young Rock are some of the biggest projects that The Rock has been involved with in 2022, with the Christmas film Red One also in production. In 2023, the WWE Universe are hoping to see The Great One step into the ring for a showdown with Roman Reigns to find out who is the true Head of the Table. If this match were to take place, fans will be hoping the match lasts longer than Johnson’s previous match at WrestleMania.
