Dwayne Johnson has known Nahnatchka Khan and her brother, WWE Co-CEO Nick Khan since the three of them were children.
Johnson has spoken of the trio’s history in the past, recalling that, in the mid-1980s, they would meet up in Honolulu, Hawaii every month when his grandmother was running pro wrestling shows.
Since then, all three have followed their love for the wrestling business in their professional lives. Dwayne Johnson became one of the biggest stars in WWE, Nick Khan went on to be WWE President and now co-CEO, while Nanatchka Khan created ‘Young Rock’, the TV series chronicling The Great One’s early years.
Dwayne Johnson pays tribute to Nanatchka Khan
In a recent post on Instagram, Dwayne Johnson shared multiple pictures of him and Nanatchka on the set of Young Rock. He paid tribute to Khan as “one of the best in Hollywood” and went on to thank fans of the show for watching.
“On set of @NBC’s YOUNG ROCK with one of the best in Hollywood – our show creator Nahnatchka Khan.
Love working with her and here’s a fun fact:
We lived in Hawaii at the same time in the 80’s and we used to run around around pro wrestling matches as kids.
She would attend the wrestling shows with her brother Nick Khan – who is now co-CEO of WWE.Small world. Big dreams. Hard work.
Thanks everyone for tuning in and loving the show.
We appreciate you!!!

Outside of the world of Hollywood, rumours persist that Dwanye Johnson is set to make his return to pro wrestling in 2023 to face off against his cousin, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
Most recently, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that, while the idea is “not off the boards”, it’s also not certain to happen and contingency plans are being put in place in case it doesn’t go ahead.
