Although he started his career as a WWE Superstar, achieving a total of 8 WWE Championships throughout his legendary career, Dwayne Johnson is now one of the world’s most esteemed – and perhaps more importantly, highest-grossing – actors. ‘The Brahma Bull’ most recently starred in Black Adam, which has received mixed reviews overall.
For his performance alone, though, the WWE icon has been praised, with his lead role being tremendously praised. The film, which released worldwide on October 21st, is expected to gross over $130 million combined, which would make Black Adam the best performance for a Dwayne Johnson-led movie across an opening weekend.
Owing to this, Hallmark is reportedly scheduled to release an ornament featuring Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam. The detailed figurine can be viewed here. As of this writing, a release date has not been revealed.
Dwayne Johnson’s Rise To Superstardom
Though he started his acting career in the early 2000s in The Mummy Returns – which followed a role as himself in 1999’s Beyond The Mat – it wasn’t until the 2010s that Dwayne Johnson became the worldwide movie star that he is today. His portrayal of Luke Hobbs in The Fast and The Furious franchise has often been credited for his vast success in the market.
Johnson last played Hobbs in 2019’s spinoff Hobbs & Shaw, with this run set to continue in an as-of-yet untitled sequel. However, he confirmed to CNN’s Chloe Melas that he has no intention of ever returning to the main franchise following Vin Diesel calling for his return in 2023’s Fast X:
“I was very surprised by Vin’s recent post. This past June, when Vin and I actually connected not over social media, I told him directly – and privately – that I would not be returning to the franchise. I was firm, yet cordial with my words and said that I would always be supportive of the cast and always root for the franchise to be successful, but that there was no chance I would return. I privately spoke with my partners at Universal as well, all of whom were very supportive as they understand the problem.”
Dwayne Johnson is currently in the process of filming Red One, which is scheduled for a festive 2023 release via Amazon Prime Video.
