Dwayne Johnson Pays Tribute To Stan Lee On Late Friend’s 100th Birthday
December 28th, 2022, was a unique anniversary for the friends and family of Stan Lee. The day marked what would have been the iconic comic writer’s 100th birthday. Dwayne Johnson took to Twitter to leave a tribute on the special day.
“Happy Heavenly Birthday to an old friend and mentor @TheRealStanLee
As I broke into Hollywood many years ago, he was always so supportive and encouraging which blew me away.
His kindness really moved me.
Years later I got to say thank you
Stan would’ve been 100 today”
Stan Lee passed away on November 12th, 2018, at the age of 95. In the comic book world, he is famed for writing the first lines of dialogue for legendary characters such as Spider-Man, the Hulk, and the X-Men. His impact on the world was immense, with his contributions leading to Marvel’s status as a household name.
Dwayne Johnson would also attach an Instagram post to his tweet, also referring to Stan Lee, which he posted in October of 2017.
“This man. This legend.
When I first broke into Hollywood 17yrs ago, Stan Lee (iconic co creator of Spider Man, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Dr Strange etc) welcomed me with open arms. Always offering sage advice to help build my career. Be imaginative, set no limits.. have fun, he said.
Years had gone by, but at Stan’s #LAComicCon I had the opportunity to hug him again and say thank you. I was also truly moved yesterday by his words regarding the career I’ve been fortunate enough to build.
Much more to accomplish.
Cheers my friend to imagination, no limits and fun. Next time tequila’s on me!
