Dustin Rhodes revealed that he missed night one of Fyter Fest due to being at home with an illness.

Night one of Fyter Fest wasn’t short on star power, but one of AEW’s stars who wasn’t in attendance was Dustin Rhodes, who took to social media to reveal that he was at home with an illness.

“Not at #AEWDynamite #FyterFest tonight as I am super sick at home. Y’all tune in to @TBSNetwork at 8/7 central. @AEW”

When a fan replied to the tweet saying they hoped the star doesn’t have COVID, Dustin Rhodes responded that he thinks he might as it feels just like when he contracted the virus previously.

The main event of Fyter Fest saw the Young Bucks take on the teams of Powerhouse Hobbs and Ricky Starks along with Swerve in Our Glory in a triple threat match for the AEW Tag Team Championships. In the end, the team of Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland emerged victorious to become the new champions, claiming their first gold in AEW.

After the match, Keith Lee cut an emotional promo and dedicated their AEW Tag Team Title win to his friend who is battling stage four cancer.

Matt Jackson didn’t escape the match unscathed, suffering an injury a few minutes into the bout.
