Dustin Rhodes Celebrates 14 Years Of Sobriety

Dustin Rhodes has taken to social media to celebrate 14 years of being “clean and sober.”

On May 19th AEW star Dustin Rhodes celebrated a major milestone. The 24-year veteran took to social media to reveal that he has been free of drugs and alcohol for 14 years.

The star also used the milestone to encourage those who are struggling.

A number of wrestling figures including, Danhausen, Lance Storm and Renee Paquette sent their own messages of encouragement to the star, congratulating him on his achievement.

Speaking in 2013, Rhodes opened up about the impact that alcohol and drugs had previously had on his life, revealing that he was using pills and cocaine alongside alcohol. He also recounted once incident shortly before he began his recovery where he almost died.

Dustin Rhodes was most recently in action on the April 20th episode of AEW Dynamite where he was defeated by CM Punk. However, the star was involved on the most recent episode of the show where he was confronted by Serena Deeb. The number one contender to the AEW Women’s Championship was upset that Rhodes had backed champion Thunder Rosa in the lead up to the match.

In the segment, Deeb took repeated shots at her former employer WWE, referring to the fact she got cosmetic surgery in an effort to get signed by the company.

Thunder Rosa and Serena Deeb will meet with the AEW Women’s World Championship on the line at Double or Nothing.
