Madusa Believes Rising NXT Stars Are Outshining Roxanne Perez

WWE Hall of Famer Madusa recently shared her thoughts on NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez and highlighted rising stars Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia as the ones to watch.

Although Perez is already a two-time NXT Women’s Champion and a cornerstone of the division, Madusa believes that Vaquer and Giulia bring unique attributes that could potentially eclipse Perez’s spotlight.

Madusa praised Vaquer’s unique style and hinted at the dynamic possibilities she could bring, whether as a tag team partner with Giulia or as an opponent, remarking, “They can do it individually… I think both of those two could outshine Perez right now.” She acknowledged Perez’s hard work and WWE’s significant investment in her, but expressed confidence in the distinct potential and charisma of Vaquer and Giulia.

Madusa also complimented Sol Ruca, whose acrobatic in-ring style has impressed fans. However, she suggested that with more character depth and wrestling psychology, Ruca could take her talents to an even higher level. Madusa envisioned her fitting into the competitive mix with Vaquer and Giulia if given further development.

Her commentary sheds light on the promising talent in WWE’s women’s division and the various directions the company could explore with their rising stars.

Booker T

Booker T Compares Rising WWE Star To The Miz

Booker T recently shared high praise for Chelsea Green, comparing her versatility and commitment to her character work to that of longtime WWE star The Miz.

On his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T emphasized that Green’s ability to take any idea or script and add her own flair makes her stand out as a key player on the WWE roster.

Reflecting on The Miz’s long-term success in WWE, Booker explained that Green shares a similar quality: she doesn’t just follow the script—she enhances it, bringing out unique elements that elevate each segment. He advised young wrestlers to take note of Green’s approach:

“She’s like The Miz, a female version. She’s all about getting the script, and going out there and enhancing the script… That’s how you become the one that they know they can count on in any situation.” [H/t to Wrestling Inc.]

Booker noted that Green’s standout moments this year, such as her interactions with WWE authority figures, her table bump in the Money in the Bank ladder match, and her creative approach to a dumpster match against Michin on SmackDown, highlight her adaptability and dedication to her craft.

Baron Corbin

Baron Corbin Reveals How The Pandemic Killed His Character

Former WWE star Baron Corbin recently reflected on the impact of the pandemic on his “King Corbin” persona, suggesting that the absence of live audiences played a significant role in derailing the character’s momentum.

After winning the 2019 King of the Ring tournament, Corbin fully embraced the over-the-top “King” persona, complete with a crown, a cloak, and a throne entrance designed to draw the ire of the crowd.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated’s Adam Barnard, Corbin explained that this character was crafted to provoke an immediate, negative reaction from fans—a response that became impossible during the pandemic’s empty arena era:

“I think the pandemic killed the King because that was one of those things that needed to be in front of people. It was all about the presentation from being carried to the ring to the obnoxious giant 8,000 lbs. fur coat, and the crown, and all those things. That’s something that needs to be presented to a live audience because it lives better that way, where it irritates people. When I’m looking down on them and waving at them from my giant throne that I’m being carried on, it just has more of an effect that way.”

Without a live audience to react to his antics, Corbin felt the King Corbin gimmick lost its impact, as much of its appeal was rooted in the immediate heat it generated from fans.
