Drew McIntyre's WWE Contract Set To Expire In A Matter Of Weeks

A new report has given more insight into when Drew McIntyre’s current deal is set to expire.

The Scottish Warrior has become a major talking point in WWE as it is common knowledge that his contract is nearing its end and he has not signed a new deal. While many knew that McIntyre could become a free agent shortly after WrestleMania 40, the latest report has provided more specifics on the matter.

As reported by PWInsider, McIntyre has still not signed a new deal and a company source stated that his contract expires in the “five to six week” range. If neither side can come to terms on a new deal, McIntyre could be a free agent in late May or early June. It should also be noted that Clash at the Castle, which will take place in McIntyre’s home country of Scotland, will take place on June 15th.

Additionally, it is stated that both sides have been in discussions “for several weeks” but they have “yet to get to the finish line on new terms.”

Drew McIntyre Wins & Loses At WrestleMania 40

At WrestleMania, McIntyre challenged Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship. Although The Scottish Warrior was a heavy favourite going into the match, there was doubt about the result due to the fact that McIntyre had not signed a new deal before the match. Defeating Rollins and becoming the new champion, McInytre’s future appeared to be set as he had finally won a top championship with fans in attendance. Unfortunately, the good feeling came crashing down quickly as Damian Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to steal the title away from Drew McIntyre, largely due to an assist from CM Punk.
